Studies have shown that high school athletes are more at risk to abuse prescription drugs.
“I do see this as an increasing issue among young people.” LaRue County athletic director David Dawson said. “I think it is critical that teachers, coaches and administrators bring this issue to the forefront and provide more education to our young people about the dangers and effects. Prescription drug abuse changes so many lives, and it challenges teachers and coaches who are educating and coaching these young people, along with communicating to the parents as well.”
