How do you “see” yourself? Are the thoughts in your mind serving you in a positive fashion? Taking time to uncover your self-image will empower you to re-write the negative scripts that may be limiting your forward momentum. Once these limiting beliefs are unveiled, you can replace them with beliefs that serve in a positive way. To begin, find a place that will be free from loud noise, interruption and anything you may find distracting. Ask yourself the following questions.
• How do you truly see yourself?
• Are you comfortable with your outward appearance?
• Are you content with the thoughts that greet you every morning?
• Are you at peace when you call it a night, knowing that you have given the day your best?
Don’t force the answers to come to you, allow them to manifest naturally. Pay attention to any negative words or emotions that are found in your answers. Pay attention to all of the messages you are receiving. When your meditation time has come to an end, reflect on what messages you received. Take a moment to write down what you felt and experienced.
Let some time pass before you visit the words, phrases and thoughts you experienced during your meditation. When it is time to re-visit & reflect, go to a place void of distractions. Look at what you wrote down. Take a few minutes to repeat all of what your received out loud. Ponder on these thoughts and emotions.
• Did the words you wrote down seem negative?
• Were they self-defeating?
• Do they serve you in a positive way?
• Do they align you with your true purpose?
Now is the time to re-write the scripts that are running around in your minds eye. Read over the words your wrote carefully. Take another piece of paper and alter the words in your statements. If your words are positive, leave them be. If your words are negative, simply replace the negative statement with it’s opposite. This process creates a positive statement. Take a moment to sit back and read these new statements out loud. There is a great deal of power in the spoken word. You are sharing positive energy with the universe. Replacing the negative with the positive created your personal set of positive affirmations.
You have created a set of positive affirmations that will serve you well. Consider placing these affirmations in a visible area. Perhaps you wish to carry them on your person or repeat them in the mirror. Do what feels comfortable. The key is to repeat these statements until you truly believe them. You will become what you release into the universe.
