Former ABC political correspondent and news anchor Sam Donaldson was arrested earlier this month on drunk driving charges in Delaware.
Donaldson, 78, was pulled over in Lewes on the evening of Dec. 1 by local police after an officer saw him drive on the shoulder of the road, according to Delaware radio station 105.9
He failed a field sobriety test, Lewes Police Chief Jeff Horvath told 105.9.
He was charged with drunk driving and released.
Donaldson, a Virginia resident, will have to return to Delaware for a court date to address his DUI charge.
While now retired from full-time ABC work, Donaldson is still a frequent contributor to the network’s political shows, including the Sunday roundtable “This Week.”
